Pledge With Me, To Not Shop For 1 Year!
Pledge With Me, To Not Shop For 1 Year!
I love to shop. besides going to church and eating out, my most favorite past time is shopping. I have reached the limit on all my charged cards.
I want to make a change. I want to be more responsible of the monies God has blessed me to earn.
So, Starting this month June 2016 and until June 2017, I will not spend my future earnings, on clothing, shoes, accesories or wigs.
I admire the minimalists, they eliminate items they can live without and do not purchase anything that is unnecessary.
How many times we buy new clothing for a trip, when no one on the trip or at the destination has even seen your clothing.
How many times we leave items hanging in our closet with tags, when we need to pay bills.
How many pair of black shoes do we need; handbags and dresses do we need?
I am aiming toward reducing my debt, raising my credit score and find other ways to earn money to supplement my income.
My only agreement is, my salary will not go toward purchasing any of the items above, However, if I receive a gift, or make some money by selling something I already own. then, I can choose to pay toward the debt or buy myself something new.
I will post once a month, how much I have paid down my debt and by how many points have my credit score improved.
Remember, If you want to make this pledge with me, in order to buy something, you must sell something or if you receive money as a gift( do what you choose). Also, You can barter, trade, cosignment. Look in your closet, you may find something useful.
This is not easy, I love to shop, however, I don't like debt. Debt is like a stack of cards, waiting to collapse.
I hope someone else out there pledge to do the same.
If you do, send me emails on your accomplishments at dmmcdonald@mail.com
How much you saved and how many points did your credit score rise.
We can do this together. debt is a heavy weight on the mind, body and soul.
It is time to work toward being debt FREE! It is time to be ever consuming adding to the Landfills of the World, causing polution and waste.
We can do this together and make our familes more financially sound.
